Capture ideas on your Apple Watch

Prod puts idea capture on your wrist. Tap Capture idea, dictate or scribble the thought, and it syncs to Prod on your iPhone through iCloud.

In the car. Mid-conversation. Right before sleep. Your phone is often in a pocket or another room when an idea arrives. Your wrist is closer. Prod on Apple Watch is there for those first few seconds, and nothing else.

How do I capture an idea on Apple Watch?

  1. Open Prod on your Apple Watch, or tap its complication on your watch face.
  2. Tap Capture idea.
  3. Tap the text field and dictate, use Scribble, or type.
  4. Tap Save. A short tap on your wrist tells you it's kept.

Which watch face complications does Prod have?

Prod has complications for four spots on a watch face: circular, rectangular, corner and inline. Each one shows a plus sign, and tapping it opens Prod on your Watch.

Where do ideas from my Watch go?

They sync through your own iCloud account to Prod on your iPhone and iPad, where they wait for your next review. Nothing goes to Prod's own servers.

Can I see my ideas on the Watch?

Yes. The Watch shows a short list of ideas that need attention. Swipe one to make it Active or to Archive it. For everything else, use Prod on your iPhone.

Do I need Prod Pro to capture on Apple Watch?

No. Capturing on Apple Watch is part of the free app.

How is this different from Voice Memos or Apple Notes on the Watch?

Voice Memos keeps a recording you have to listen back to later. Apple Notes, which came to the Watch with watchOS 26, is good for notes you want to keep and reread. Prod saves the idea as text and gives it a place in your next review, so it gets sorted rather than buried. If you mainly want to keep notes, Apple Notes may be all you need.

What do I need to use Prod on Apple Watch?

An Apple Watch with watchOS 26 or later, and Prod on your iPhone. The Watch app installs alongside the iPhone app. Prod is free on the App Store.

No idea left behind.

Prod is free on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
